today, in the back yard

.

It is well established that housework is not my idea of a good time.

Laundry is the only chore I sort of enjoy. I like hanging it up, and I don't mind taking it down and folding it.......... I get a bit of exercise, stretching and bending, and I get to feel smug about using zero fossil fuels to get my wash dry.

You never know what you'll find, hanging on our lines.

Buzz's "bear," cleaner than it was.

I don't know how Pooh got into the wash. I didn't expect to see him in the basket with the clean wet clothes. He looks happy about being clean and spending the day outside.

All ready to go back in the house.

This is one of the few plants to survive the neglect our yard suffers. This was here in the back yard when we moved in, and is still here.

I have no idea what it is. I've never seen anything else with such waxy (?) shiny petals. They are thin, like "regular petals," but they are almost like plastic in their shininess.

I want to say the yellow flower is some form of hypericum, but the 6 petals throws me.

Those leaves in the penultimate pic are the same plant as the flowers. Two shades of green, and complicated edges.....

It's a low non-shrubby thing.

The shininess of the petals is the most salient thing, I think. Or the most unique to it, anyway. In my experience.
