When I see this ...

I want our flag to stand for shining examples of good behavior. For fairness. For opportunity. For justice. For going a bit out of our way to make things better for someone else. For taking good care of our planet, even when it's easier not to.

I hope with all my being that we can turn our backs on our recent unconscionable bully-boy behavior, and face instead toward a plan for keeping an eye on the larger picture. Rather than focusing solely on our own wants, I hope we can take into consideration the wants and needs of others (especially those who have less access to resources). I hope we can open-heartedly work toward offering everyone chances to succeed.

I know we cannot be secure, nor can we have long-term peace, unless others are also secure and enjoy peace. Hitting doesn't help, in the long run. It only perpetuates problems.

Only fairness and prosperity for all will lead to long-term peace.

Let's share our good qualities. Let's demonstrate our fervent belief in fairness, in justice, in taking care of those less fortunate. It's good for all of us.
