My buddy K. has a wonderful garden. She has a huge variety of plants, burgeoning with vitality, arranged with a keen eye for color, value, texture, size.....
It was a treat to get a guided tour, on the 27th.
Hydrangea.
Lavender, with petunias, behind a low wall, backed by white pickets (and daylilies). Nice!
Lavender and shadows.
Cinnamon fern.
Holly(?).
Spent clematis. Oooh!
It was even more amazing in the sun -- glowing gold..... (a bit blown out here, alas)
Note its shadow on leaf, upper right.........
K. has a large and varied collection of hostas.
These are hard to believe! All of this tropical-looking foliage has grown since about April. Wow.
K. is the one who educated me as to the identity of hellebore.
Look what's going on inside! !!!
Incipient daisy.
Hosta bud. Note how the edges of what appear to be petals are showing the purple of the flowers-to-be. It would be fun to watch this and see how it turns into flowers.....
Evening primrose.
Delphinium.
Artemesia.
Russian sage.
Mallow. Really nice against the fence, with the spirea in the background.....
Cedar(?).
Astilbe. Against the brick. Nice.
Closeup. I seriously (100%!) boosted the contrast so we could see these teeny flowers better...........
Nice work, K. How lovely to look out your windows, or sit on your deck, and enjoy all these fruits of your labors!
