On August 22, we visited the art museum. We started with lunch, in this corner.
Then we went to see the new wing.

We have a print of this Edward Hopper painting in the kitchen at work.

Seriously wanted to sit on this. Of course we aren't allowed to sit on the art, even when it was intended to be a functional chair before it made its way into a museum. I'm not sure this was intended to be functional.............
Ron Arad. London Papardelle, 2004. Made from painted woven bronze which is "usually employed for commercial conveyor belts."

12th century Chinese stoneware. Love the color!

20th century American stoneware. Otto and Gertrude Natzler. She threw the pots and he glazed them. I love both of these............

I believe this was taken at the end of the new wing. There is a very big lawn behind the old part of the museum (the older building you can see). People picnic here, and there are concerts.........

We looked at a bit of photography.
Taj Mahal, ca 1860, calotype paper-negative by John Murray

Early 20th century women's strip-woven wrapper from Ghana.
This had a lot of different sorts of weaving going on.

This is my only closeup that is in focus.

Monet, Mill at Limetz, 1888.

Not sure I think the frame goes with the painting, but I love the frame.....
(Love it, but do not wish to own it...........)

Emile Galle, cameo glass, etched and carved, ca 1900.
The bottom of this was bulbous and I wasn't sure I liked it, but I love this part....
Those long graceful petals..............

Another cool frame. I didn't like what was in it as much as I liked the frame....
