August 23, going home

.

We had brunch at my parents' on the 23rd. This fox was spotted on the drive between their backyard and another residential building. It was so glossy and perfect (no scars, etc) that I thought it was probably young. It just hung out in the road, biting and scratching like a dog with fleas. I hope it wasn't injured or ill. I was told that it moved on soon after this was taken. I guess there were two of them, but I only saw this one. It was right in a built-up area. I don't know how far it is to proper fox habitat from here.

Strangely green, for August in Kansas.

Perfect vantage point for aerial pics of Chicago. Only verrrry hazy. I've used Photoshop Elements' "auto smart fix" on this twice or three times, along with a darkening of the black level at one point.

As above, labeled.

It rained on us during the very end of the flight to Detroit. As we taxied from the runway to the terminal, the plane turned, I saw this, and only had time for one shot. I'm pleased that it came out this well. I like the orange of the sunlight, and the speckledy rain on the window, and the clouds in the lighter area above the horizon.....
