I like the way the bark curves around places where once there were branches, and the specks of color from the lichens.

Get one of these clusters of stickers in the tail or pants of a long-haired dog, and you and the dog will both be sad.
These work in teams to make an enormous tangled mess. Poor Spot ("shepherd/husky" x of fond memory) came home from the Arboretum one time with her hind legs basically glued together. She and I suffered through an hour or more of detangling before she could walk (or pee!) comfortably.
(Corgis and beagles can walk through these, and may need a few swipes of the hand to remove any stragglers, but no massive -- and painful -- detangling required.)
Burrdock.

Grass, and something like bells, gone to seed.

Leaf shadows on pavement.

Maples up and down the street.

The people who bought this house in the last few years have added some craftsman-like touches.
It was the three heights of pots that caught my eye........

Goldenrod, gone to seed.

Two daisy-like weeds. One with skinny white petals, and one with skinnier white petals.
