I don't remember seeing mushrooms at the market before.

I am starting to feel my autumnal urgency to soak up color..........



I have no idea what these are. With their multitudes of little spikes they are reminding me powerfully of that spherical micro-organism in the "drop of pond water" at the museum.....


Purple cauliflower. Who knew. Or yellow, for that matter.......

Gladiolas.

I know people cook with squash blossoms, but I believe this is the first time I've seen them for sale at the market.

I was really trying to capture the translucence, but the camera wasn't real happy about focusing on these........

I got purple broccoli from the market the other day. Like purple beans, it lost its color as it cooked. Very good though!

I'm not surprised that the purple went away. I bet the yellow stays, though. But I could well be wrong.
