We really needed a printer. Our old one has been marginal for quite a while. We hardly ever print anything -- a page or two, once or maybe twice a month, is our usual demand on a printer.
Ink jets don't like sitting around waiting to be used..............
We decided to try a laser, and see if that holds up any better in our environment.
I looked at the ads online, and Staples had one of the models I've been looking at (a Brother 2140), for $50. Can't beat that with a stick.
Of course I'm looking at all this on Saturday afternoon, and the ads are only good through Saturday. I call the Staples close to me, and they don't have one, but if I go in and buy it, I can pick it up from a store that does have one, or they will have that store ship it to me. They forgot to mention "for free," but I believe the shipping was supposed to be free in that case. An excellent deal; keep it in mind if your local Staples is out of something on sale!
I had some errands I wanted to run on the east side of town, anyway, so I decided to get the printer from the Carpenter Road Staples. All of this worked, but not without the odd glitch here and there (my "paperwork" not faxed from the Jackson Rd. store to the Carpenter Rd. store, so phone calls needed to be made.....).
In the end, I walked out with my printer. In a very large box; I've seen the printer in person, and it bulks about half the size of the box! I managed to cram it into the back of our little car (so it would be hidden from would-be thieves), and went on to my other errands.
Meijers for Cheerios.
Then JoAnn's.
I love this sort of display of all the colors of ... whatever ... any time of year. And now? It gives me a physical jolt to see the color.

Mmmmmmmmmmm. One of each, please!

I got everything I wanted from JoAnn's (from my whole trip, really -- how amazing!).
Here's what the sky looked like when I came out. Doesn't it look like the sand at the beach, when the drop off into the sea is verrrrry shallow, and the white white sand is covered with tiny ripples? (aside from that jet stream over the middle of it, of course!)
