March 24 -- morning

.

The better I know hydrangeas, the more I like them.

These bracts or whatever they are just keep going and going and going...... Providing something to look at in the bleak winter landscape.

Now with a promise of starting over for this growing season.

My grandmother's spider plant, on my office window sill.

I absolutely positively love hydrangeas. Love, love, love them and had the most beautiful plants back in Maryland. Unfortunately they don't seem to grow well in New Mexico. Waaaaah.

I used to think of them as too ... contrived. Blue, pink, unnatural...........

But since I've been paying closer attention (since the library planted them out in front, where I see them daily or weekly, in all seasons)............

Since I've been paying closer attention, I have come to appreciate their form, their persistence, their veins, their profusion...............
