Wibble update

.

He is JUST like his usual self today.

Whew.

He has congestion. All the time. Mostly in his head, and sometimes in his chest.

This has been looked at over and over by different vets, and the diagnosis is "um, allergies." When he was at the dentist specialist to have his jawbone cyst reamed out, the dentist flushed out his sinuses, checking for ... anything icky. Didn't find anything, flushed again, just to be sure........ Still nothing..........

He takes loratadine (generic Claritin) every day, on his vets' recommendation, and when the congestion is more in his chest, he gets Mucinex. I'm the one who brought up giving him Mucinex, and his vet looked it up in a very fat book and said it was fine to give it to him, and told me which of the many possibilities was the right dosage.

His congestion has been quite bad for the last week or 10 days (my own congestion has been bad, for me, and one of my friends at work has said hers has been awful....). He's been on Mucinex for several days in a row.

He has been on it for several days in a row in the past, too, but..............

I looked up side effects for Mucinex, but only found them for people. Nausea, vomiting, lethargy. Nothing about constipation......

I didn't give him any last night (he gets it once a day, usually in the evening).

So I'm left wondering if that has anything to do with this little "episode." I don't remember if he'd had a bunch of Mucinex before the last one...........

It does seem to help him when he's coughing (it loosens up mucous so it can be got rid of easier).

It's always something, eh?

Just glad he's feeling himself today. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He will definitely get a walk after a while.

He's never been a "gotta walk all the time or else!" dog in the past. Walks are fine, but I'm not really that fond of having to bathe the dog afterwards.......

At least he's not a corgi. Buzz, with his low chest, would have needed a belly bath after every one of these many walks since the temp came up and the snow was replaced by wet sidewalk and dirt............

I'm glad the boy is seemingly okay now. They seem to like keeping us on our toes.
