And for something else ugly and depressing, here's what used to be the library parking lot.
Excavation is well under way. In the back right corner (right above those humongous drill bits), there is a huge deep hole.
Ick.
Sign on the fence, explaining the project (and trying to sell us on how wonderful it will be). I notice that the library is unrecognizable in this image, and wonder if it will be done away with, too. After all, how many of the out-of-towners who need all this parking ever use that? Why not tear it down and build yet more parking!!!!
