slow drain

.

Our kitchen sinks drain into the same pipe-that-goes-down-to-the-basement.

The right one always drains well.

The left one has been squirrely since we bought the house. Sometimes it's ok, sometimes it's barely ok, sometimes it's stopped dead.

For a long time, when we plunged, quantities of what looked like paint-brush bristles would come up from the depths. Very coarse, jet black, 1.5" long. Ish.

Very odd.

Who knows........

Over the years, we've had two plumbers work on it, and lately we've not seen any paint-brush bristles, but that drain continues to be unreliable.

Hence this.

The jar suggests dosing affected drains three days in a row. We managed to do this at a time when the drain was draining, just barely, and after some good solid plunging yesterday, it is now draining quickly. Even with the water running briskly.

Huzzah.

One of us, glancing at the above, saw this:

If it cleans out brains, too, so that everything runs more quickly and smoothly, maybe they should just put it in the water! Keep those drains and brains running as well as they can!

Sounds like a plan to me!
