June 20

.

Ok.

Time to tackle the truck.

My goal, in packing, had been to get an evenly deep layer, so that shifting would be at a minimum.

(We had removed a couple of items the day before, and had moved the chair and the lamp and the large box in the front corner to do so.)

As far as we can tell so far, everything seems to have arrived unscathed.

The truck was loaded in two bursts (and we'd carried an Impala-trunkful of stuff down and stowed it in the car before we even went to get the truck).

When "loading" involved hauling every last item down three long flights of stairs, and "unloading" meant carrying stuff 20' into the garage (no sorting or ultimate-place-finding just then), unloading was WAY!!! faster than loading!

According to the camera, this was taken 19 minutes after the previous pic.

Despite driving through a POURING rainstorm at the end of the trip, I am very happy to report the truck kept everything dry.

Hooray.

Now the work that remains is clearing enough space in the house to make room for everything, and moving it all in.
