Spirea.

I love to look at roses, but I don't grow stuff with thorns.
Except for this.
This has been here since before we bought the house in 1985.
Despite a fairly shady location, and with NO care at all, it keeps going and going and going......
It blooms in the spring, and it blooms in the fall.
Just a few flowers.
But it keeps going.
And the color............................

Tulip tree, also here since before we bought the house.

I would have never had roses either except that they were there when we bought our house. Funny that this year they look tired - and that's after I had someone prune and feed them that supposedly knew what they were doing. Agh!
Oh dear.
I hate when I go out of my way to try to do the right thing, and something doesn't work out.......
Agh, indeed!
Holy cow--what lovely color. How amazing that you inherited them and have kept them so beautiful for so long. Wow.

It's all Mama Nature, I haven't done a thing except admire......
:-)
Seems like this rose could be valuable to someone -- living so long with no poisons or fertilizers or pruning or anything -- it must be very resistant to problems!
