bat

.

As Wibbs and I walked, just a little while ago, I saw a bat.

W was busy sniffing a tree, and I was looking at the waning light above the houses.

Bats fly differently from birds. More of a ... flitter. And not in straight lines, usually.

This one came rather near us -- 15 or 20 feet.

I'd been thinking I should remember to keep my eyes up, on these twilight walks, to maybe see a bat.

I was pleased to see it.

Bats eat a HUGE number of bugs, and are active when mosquitoes are most active.....
