.
Another hot blue day.
Signpost, bolted to pavement.
Sunflowers.
Golden rain tree. You remember how many flowers it had. There are fewer pods, but they take up as much space. The tree was covered in flowers, and now is covered in pods.
Translucent, and with reddish edges.....
Coneflower.
Looking up into the persimmon. Its bark is different from any other tree I know.
Asiatic lilies.
And more, a few blocks west of the above.
Glad.
Rose.
Rusty bolts, holding a railroad bridge together.

Love those raintree pods!
I've never seen that pod tree before...the pods remind me of a flower that my neighbor grows, the puffy pods have heart shaped seeds in them...
The pods are great. I like them now, and they are excellent when brown and dry, too.
They are almost totally hollow, with one shiny round pea-sized seed in each of the three chambers.
They make a gentle clattering sound, in the breeze, once they are dry.....
Love the "natural-colored" coneflower. I had the most beautiful clematis in Maryland that color... simply beautiful.
So much to like about coneflowers.
Another flower I never appreciated before I started with the macro photos. The basic shape. The difference in texture/color/value between the center and the petals. The way they go on and on. The centers, when they are all seeds. The centers after all the seeds are gone.........
A very long "interesting" season!
