June 29

.

Me and Wibble, out for a walk.

Glowing daylily.

Love the three yellow stars, lower right.

Dinner preparations.

Rainbow trout, to be cooked en papillote.

Two sauces to go with the fish.

A more savory one which started with this

and finished with rhubarb.

A sweeter one that began with onion, and then got blueberries.

Both were very good; I liked the blueberries best.

Aren't we lucky -- getting so many new and adventurous things to eat?!?!?

Umm. Yum. I'm hungry now, thanks. ;) I adore sauces with my meats... and love fruit sauces. Don is so funny... he used to freak (and sometimes still does) when I prepare a fruit sauce to go with a meat at our house. I'm breaking him in though! :) I love your creativity in the kitchen - how fun that you had two very different sauces to go with the trout.

Ah -- I wish I could take credit -- it is my foodie daughter who is responsible for the delicious new things we are eating. :-)

It's kinda sad how many people eat their food very plain and bland.... There are so many excellent flavors out there to savor...... :-)

Good for Don for being willing to try some new things. :-)

I remember in my better half's and my early days, his mother telling me that he wouldn't eat broccoli.

Well, yes, actually, he would.....

:-) :-)
