The parakeet that lives on my monitor.
The sky, as a front was getting ready to move through A2.
Sky on top of bird, color burned.
Then I decided I had to do something about a better perch. This is version II, with a branch from the persimmon tree replacing the top of the monitor.
I'm finding this layer-blending thing to be pretty opaque. I don't have a clue what I'm going to like and what I'm not going to like, at this point........
Of course one struggles, when presented with something entirely new to learn.
Struggling, also, with the usual "well, ok, I'll stick to what I'm good at" -- which, of course, prevents learning anything new, if that takes actual work.......

my linnies like hanging out on my monitor or top of my head (I prefer the monitor especially when they "let one fly") :)
Indeed. :-)
This one is a lot less fun than a real one, but a lot less trouble, too.
The day I got her, I told my husband that I'd bought a parakeet and a guinea pig.
He paused for a moment, and said he couldn't hear either of them.....
:-)
Well, yes, there's a reason for that......
Your birds are gorgeous. Eager to hear stories about them. :-)
Forgot the "hint, hint, nudge, nudge, wink, wink" that should have been at the end of my prev....
:-)
Ha! you sound like me and my arting with PS elements; i don't know what i'm doing most of the time so i just try things until nothing happens anymore. Funny i remember the stuff i find myself unlike when read, told or shown....
You're doing a great job; your photogrphy, bird and sky are fabulous.
Thanks.
After having at least some idea how to get from here to there, with Elements, for quite a while, launching into this (for me) uncharted territory leaves me feeling kinda lost again.
Much experimentation needed, to get to a point where I have a clue what may "work" and what doesn't......
What kinds of things can blend in what kinds of ways, to get effects that please me..... At this point I feel utterly clueless about it.
