.
I felt better after my nap, thank goodness.
We decided to have a bread/fruit/yogurt supper on the beach.
We walked into the old city to the Monoprix.
I noticed these squares on the half-timbering, but didn't think until I was writing this post that maybe that is sun-protection for the wood.
In the pics, it's clear they are shingles of some sort. I wonder.....
Amused by the new imprint of the shoe in the concrete around the (probably old?) paving stones.
And we, too, were there, too, though we did not leave permanent footprints.
City Hall, again, against an amazing sky.
The French are unbeatable at fancy desserts. I wish I'd captured (or even noticed-at-the-time) the name of the concoction inside the ... jars? ... at left....
Now we are waiting in line at the Monoprix to buy our usual applesauce-with-rhubarb, plain goat yogurt, and Mamie Nova cérises griottes cow yogurt. There's a reason we ate these things all the time -- they were yummy. I would happily eat some right now.............
I've never seen such a big bag of Pepperidge Farm Cookies. Those are liter bottles! (we did not purchase cookies)
Near the beach. We did not bring home any sailboats for the sailing aficionados in the crowd.
We found a bench, and, with the setting sun in our eyes, ate our yogurt, bread, and applesauce-with-rhubarb.
Americans don't usually get to see the sun set over the Atlantic!
It was a beautiful evening.
Arranged by Mama Nature.
Love the translucence of the shells, the sea weed, and, especially, the bubbles in the water.....
I did not bring home any shells from this beach for myself. Just a few small (very small) rocks, and two pieces of beach glass.
Love the way the motion of the sea is (fleetingly) recorded here..... Particularly with the little ripples at the top....
You know we got our feet wet.
Weren't we lucky to have these clouds in our sunset sky?
Another look at my 80-cent (Euro) shopping bag, this time in action. We ate one baguette for supper, and will eat this one for breakfast. We have enough yogurt to get us through our trip to Tours tomorrow.
I could sit for an hour and sift through all the treasures......
The dome our shadows point to (on the horizon) is the Big Clock's dome.
There is an aquarium right next to our hotel. If we'd had more time, I'm sure we'd have visited it. It was the sun on this building that caught my eye; I think it may be the aquarium.
Walking back toward the center of town.
We've seen the other side of this building when we've looked at the pointy tower.
Closeup of the green and white decoration under the biggest window.
Aforementioned pointy tower, with the Big Clock's dome.
At this point, we stopped for ice cream. One of the scoops was Car-a-sel (salted caramel -- sel is salt, en français. Mmmmmmmm.
Note at left -- the flat lines of lights are the tops of the two not-pointy towers. This image has all three towers plus the Big Clock's dome.

Have I said, lately, that I loooove my little camera? It wasn't expensive, it's 3.5 years old, it has taken tens of thousands of pictures, and it captures all of this for me.............
Happy sigh.
My daughter's take on this lovely day can be found here.
In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these posts, here is a link to the post that comes after this one.
