Isn't it cool that there are crafts being plied in some of these buildings that might have been here when the buildings were new?
Bar/restaurant.
Doll hospital.
Book binder.
Sign of things to come.....
Scarlet runner bean?
This may be the only place I saw more than two shoes, along with other trash, when I saw shoes on top of garbage cans.
Very modern yellow bicycle, in what I bet was an old courtyard.
New construction, with interesting texture in the concrete.
Another old craft being practiced. See the guitar-shaped sign?
The white building is the upstairs of the luthier.
Another seriously nice day.
It's cute, but I'm not spending that much money to buy my carafe a wetsuit...... (or to buy a carafe, for that matter!)
Walking through "our" square.
We stopped for a late-afternoon coffee. My pic was totally blurry, so I played with it.
Darker than most buildings in Tours.....
With new carving to go with the nice geraniums.
A glacier, with Nutella ice cream. This is an easy way to let people know what kind of ice cream you have.....
Presque means "almost".....
Something else we did not bring home as a present. Even if it had been the first MiB, I don't think we'd have brought it home.....
Back in the hotel. The info about Hardouin.....
My couronne. This was bigger than a bagel....
Inside, with bacon and walnuts. Mmmmmm.
I think it was in Tours that we got hooked on the tv show Mot de Passe. Just like the old American version of Password from decades ago, it pairs a celebrity with an ordinary person. One person is shown a word, and then gives one-word clues to the other until the second person correctly guesses the word, or time runs out.
This is an excellent show for foreigners! Viewers see the original word, written. The clues and the guesses are one word each, and tend to be spoken very clearly. Good for vocabulary-building.
Education available everywhere!
One time the word was brebis, which means "ewe." We knew it, but the contestants struggled..... Perhaps if the clue-giver had offered mouton ("sheep") rather than chevre ("goat").....
Another time, the word was "Thailand." The clue was "Bangkok," and the guess, spoken very confidently, was "Japan." The clue-giver was dumbfounded, and we were amused........
Mot de Passe was a good way to chill in evening, with French still flowing over us.
In case you've missed the link in my other posts for 2 September, my daughter's take on this lovely day can be seen here.
In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these posts, here is a link to the post that comes after this one.
