September 5 -- La Tour Eiffel!

.

Ok.

Giving in to my "moth sees flame" inclinations.

Every few steps closer yield a new view.

(Wow, a parky area, with a pond and all, just over to the left.  Who knew.)

Elevators go up inside the legs.  See the double-decker yellow, on the right side?

I lightened this up considerably.  You can see there is netting over the lower level's insides, and can see through the netting to some of the structure.

Again, lightened way up so we can see what's going on in there.

I look at this building essentially every day, on the webcam.

How excellent, to be Right Here!!!!!

La Tour Montparnasse.

Wish I'd thought to walk toward the river side of la Tour, and look toward where the webcam must be.  There is line-of-sight; wish I'd thought to get some pics in that direction.............

Ok.  I was tired, after this very walky day, and was ready to go back to the hotel.

Reluctantly walking away.....

Closeup of upper left, above, to show off curlicues.

See it, over the top of the building?

Boston University ran the program my daughter took in the summer of 2008.  Their offices were here.

Another knocker.

Lots of American ice cream in Paris.  We didn't have any.

See my daughter's take on this excellent day here.

In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these posts, here is a link to the post that comes after this one.

agreed. What a fascinating structure. I took gratuitous photos as well, but didn't get as close. I was afraid of getting trampled by other tourists.

BU has a program in Paris?? Sign me the frick UP!

I guess I successfully evaded pics of the annoying other tourists, mostly, so you can't see that it really wasn't that crowded when we were there.

It helps that it was September, I bet. And it was late afternoon, too.

Yes, BU has a Paris internship program. :-)
