September 9 -- on our way back to Paris from Rouen

.

River, with boats, behind a cornfield.

I didn't notice, when I took the pic, but it looks like the boats may be racing.  Look at the wake.....

I think more trees got between me and my intended subjects on this trip than any other.  Maybe alllll the others put together!

We had a hilarious conversation about pics of blurry trees, and how this would be a new Art genre.  My daughter recounted a story about some artists who decided to make the most audacious, ridiculous pieces they could, and sell them as Cutting Edge Art.  They did, too.  The more outrageous; the more large and fragile and, best of all, toxic, the better.  A tank of formaldehyde holding a large dead shark was mentioned as one of the successes.......

We figured that if that was Art, why not pics of blurry trees?

There has to be a manifesto, of course, so we roughed that out.

Then we began to work on a title for the first series.

Anyone who wants to sponsor the collection of the images that will represent this Important NEW Statement, or the printing and framing thereof, please leave a comment.  The artist will contact you, when she returns from her current Collecting Voyage.

Back in Paris.  You can see that it is clouding up.

We had purchased bread and yogurt in Rouen, and had eaten on the train.  We'd thought we would visit the park that has been built on an abandoned rail line (which was quite close to our hotel).  But with the cloud cover, it was pretty dark.  We decided that visiting a park/garden in the dark was not really going to be all that fun, so we abandoned that idea.  Something else to keep on the list for next time............

Paris, of course, is not just about beautiful and impressive structures, and gardens, and shopping.  It is about trains, wires, tall plain apartment buildings, and LOTS of people.

This pic doesn't appeal to me, but it tells a truth..........

Sacré Coeur, center.

See my daughter's take on this beautiful day here.
