On the 9th, we got going a bit earlier, and did not stop for anything along the way. We made our train with time to spare.
On our way to Rouen from Gare St. Lazarre.
Sacré Coeur is up on top of a hill. With its distinctive domes, it can be spotted from a great distance.....
A gorgeous day.
We were glad we had shopped in Paris on the rainy day, so we could visit Rouen on the beautiful day.
We thought it likely that partial buildings like this one were evidence of war damage, but I don't know if that's true.
Flower baskets, even beside train tracks.
Clothes(?) hanging outside the window, above and to the right of the satellite dish.
I caught a couple of place signs in the stations between Paris and Rouen.
This is the top of the building above, and both are part of the tan building behind the train, two images up.
My trusty shopping bag, and my also-trusty water bottle. Drinking fountains are not as common in France as they are here in the USA. Carrying some water with you is a good idea.
I saw a lot of different sorts of construction used for housing, between Paris and Rouen. I managed to capture a fraction of it.
Hey! The circus!
And -- a donkey!!!!! I've been saying I didn't see any donkeys in France, but when I processed these pics, I realized that the individual below the tents at right is, in fact, a donkey! (Ears harder to see in this degraded version, but so long their wearer has to be a donkey.)
These last structures were in Oissel.
In order to facilitate chronological traverse of these posts, here is a link to the post that comes after this one.
