November 12

.

We donated the minivan to the community college, to help students learn how to take care of cars.

The automotive department is very close to the beautiful Morris Lawrence building. We have been there many times for quilt guild meetings, and have enjoyed its lovely light-filled atrium and its window-wall overlooking the pond.

Waiting to be picked up after finishing the donation, I wandered over to the Morris Lawrence building (because I know where its bathrooms and drinking fountains and candy-bar machines are, and, at that point, I needed all three!).

Bradford pear, outside ML.

The college rents that very nice atrium to various groups for fancy functions.  They were setting up for something, on the afternoon of the 11th.

Walking around the Morris Lawrence building, between it and the pond.

Milkweed.

Many different kinds of plants surround the pond.  So many varied approaches to reproduction......

Looking back at the building ... plants and their reflections in the window-wall.  You can see the reflection of the burning bush.  The tall dead yellow plants in the reflection are behind me, near the pond.

(Almost) empty milkweed seedpods.  The contrast between the rough blue-gray exterior, and the very smooth golden interior.....

Seed head.

Full and ... not so full.

On the way home.

Spotted in the neighborhood while walking the dog.

Thanks! :-)

I liked those salts and pepper, too, all lined up like soldiers. Or something. :-)

Hope your weekend is lovely!
