Did you wonder what I bought, at the art-supply store?
Nothing too exciting to look at..............
I am going to take part in the Sketchbook Challenge (click the button in the right side bar for more info).
Drawing is another way to hone Looking, and it can be done pretty much anywhere, any time, with materials ready to hand.
I did not buy special paper. I wanted plenty of pages (some of the spiral-bound books of fancy watercolor paper only have 20 or 30 pages). And I do NOT want this to be about making something precious. I want it to be ... sketchy.
Note that I bought pens. No erasing for this project ... I really want it to be ... sketchy.
I tested different pens (the art-supply store thoughtfully puts pads of paper by all the pen and pencil displays). The Sharpies weren't as scratchy on the paper as some. They had a smoother feel. So I bought them. And if they bleed through "too much," I will alternate marked/drawn-on pages with pages which have cut-up magazine pages glued on (hence the shiny new glue stick).
I'm ready to roll -- the challenge begins tomorrow -- 1-1-11.........
There is room for everyone..........
If you wish you could draw, join in! If you make marks on paper, you are drawing, no? And ... the only way to improve your ability to do anything is to buckle down and do it. And continue doing it.........
I am looking forward to this............
