December 14

.

Another cold night.

I'm not sure I've ever seen this sort of frost feather before.........

Sunrise, with frost.

I'm obviously going to have to start paying much more attention to frost. I never, ever knew to look for frost feathers - how cool is that?! What was that frost on?

The sunrise with frost... very delicate. :)

Stay warm!

If I had seen your previous post, I would have known to guess windows...

Really? Frost feathers? They are feathers! It looks like someone came along and etched them into the frost.

BTW, we're having another very colorful sunrise this morning... not quite as spectacular as yesterday, but beautiful nonetheless. :D

Our study is in the southeast corner of the upstairs.

The front windows face east, and the south window in the corner has never had a storm window, so it tends to be wet rather than frosted. (Really, really need to get on the task of getting the windows replaced!)

So all of these morning frost pics have been east-facing windows on the second story. The window behind the couch in most of the Wilbur-on-the-couch pics. :-)

I'm clear that the temp/humidity/etc affect what the frost looks like, but don't know which conditions result in which kinds of frost patterns.

Aren't the feathers excellent??????? :-)

I'm not sure I've ever seen frost that looked like that, before.

Thrilled that my daughter figured out how to get the bigger camera to take macro shots, and then told me..... :-) Isn't it excellent that I told her to take my bigger camera to France, so she cared enough to figure it out, and then could educate me???? :-)

Wait till you see what I've got for tomorrow!!!!! More seriously excellent frost............ :-)

I've been thinking that I am grateful for the BLUE in the sky (when it's not cloudy! :-) ), as that is the only color in our landscape at present.

So much more COLOR in yours!

:-)

Sunny again this morning. Yay. I feel SO much better when the sun is out, at this time of year!

As for temps -- it's not bad now at all. A week or so ago it was windy and low 20s.

I've come to realize I am really not fond of wind, especially when it's cold, and ESPECIALLY when it's precipitating........

But the last several times I've walked home, it's been fine. No wind. I haven't regretted not putting on tights under my jeans. Ok, yep, it's cold, but it's Michigan. :-) Not bad at all.

This morning I got dropped at the bank, and then I walked to the post office, the library, and on to work. It was a very nice walk. Sunny, not windy. We got a little snow in the night. I meant to wear boots and forgot, but I managed not to get too wet, in the feet department.................. :-)
