I am surely enjoying checking in with the Sketchbook Project every day. The pros who are running the show have a post every day. They show their own work, and often give tutorials or demos.
It's very interesting to see the range of media, "highly valued" subjects, and the degree of finished-ness that different people choose. Some are as sketchy as mine, and some are frame-ready.
I was thinking that I've felt a sort of academic satisfaction with what I've been doing, but no real ... pleasure ... in it.
Then I realized what was missing.
This is certainly the wrong time of year to be adding more black&white to my life!
(There is so much I have to learn about what I like and don't, with this new medium! I like the way the "fine point" Sharpies -- as opposed to the extra-fine point I've been using -- slide across the paper. And -- isn't it interesting how very much more oomph the dots have, having been surrounded by the black lines?)
Holding that "need more color!" thought --
Remember these? I took this pic in La Rochelle, France, at the end of August.
Here is my "big souvenir" from France.
Love the color..............................
Hot pink has to be warmer than a neutral color, don't you think?

I love the slippers. I would wear them every day and guard them from the destructo dogs at all cost.
My old gray pair have a gnawed edge, courtesy of Wilbur, when he was newly-arrived.....
:-)
The brand is Giesswein. I just had a quick look, and didn't see this model anywhere.....
They aren't as cushy as the Haflingers I've had before, but they are cuter..... :-)
Have a look at these http://www.zappos.com/daniel-green-portia-red -- a similar idea, but red, not hot pink.... They do come in purple, it looks like.....
:-)
My honey had the brilliant idea of looking inside the slippers for the model name.
It seems to be Roth.
Here they are, but only in red? With a *brown* flower????

I read reviews of Giesswein slippers somewhere, just now, and they said they run small. I note that the spartoo site says that right on the page about them. Good for spartoo!

I've used online shoes for buying my Keen sandals.
I found a bunch of places where my same ones could be found in red (with brown???? flowers), but no place at all with the other colors seen in that shop window in August.
I wonder if it is a new model and all the good colors (brown flowers??) sold out last summer....
Not that it would be hard to make felt flowers and attach them to plain slippers..........
If one could find "plain" felted wool slippers in hot pink.....
:-)
Which Keen sandals do you like, Carolyn? There are a lot of different kinds at onlineshoes!
