I wanted to title this post "the end of an era," but I thought that might be scary. Then I thought of "thanks for the memories," but -- again, potentially scary..... Nothing scary here.
These batteries were purchased very soon after I got my little camera in March of 2007. The camera, these batteries, and I took tens of thousands of pics together.
Toward the end of last year, I could tell the batteries were going....... They didn't hold a charge the way they used to............
I bought some newer Energizers, which seem to be doing a fine job.
I sort of hate to throw these out, but that's dumb, I guess.
Anyway ... thanks for the memories, faithful servants!
Note they are marked; a magic-marker line around one pair. I'd read that it was important to run these in pairs -- the same two always together. I was really careful about it, too, for about 3.5 years. Then I snatched 'em all out of the charger at once, one time, and mixed 'em up. Oops. I tried to figure out which ones belonged (by noting that if they lost the charge instantly, maybe that wasn't one of my pairs?), and then I marked them, but I was never quite sure I had it right.
The new ones were marked before I started using them!
If everything worked as long and as well as these did, our world would be a different sort of place.
