We watched How to Train your Dragon, which is cartoony, both to look at, and in the (mostly) easy happy resolution.
Then we watched Avatar which is much more realistic to look at. Spectacularly gorgeous, too. Somewhat in the way the PBS Pride and Prejudice is gorgeous to look at, though -- there are plenty of times in both A and PaP when I can't bear what is going on and have to skip forward. (A, unlike PaP, has plenty of military mayhem.....)
Wondering why we can't have movies with tons of eye-candy, but no idiots or scumbags....
We got about 3" of snow on the 5th.

I often wonder the same.
I think there must be way more people who love scary icky stuff than people who don't.............
