Looking west, out the upstairs bathroom window. Green!
The fluffier, yellower, bunches are flowers, and the spikier, darker, bits are leaves.
It was a good day for a nap. In the sunshine. On the cowshe.
Sadly, the sunshine came and went. We struggle on, somehow.
Later in the day, a walk.
Magnolia.
I've seen this sort of floppy skinny-petal magnolia before, and I've seen magenta-pink ones, but I don't remember a floppy skinny-petal magenta-pink one.
As you could see from the first pic of this tree, it was up close to their house. I didn't like to walk up to get a closeup.....
Green!
A ravine runs parallel to Huron, just north of Huron. Scraps of it, here and there, are parks, or are parts of parks.
This is the bit that is just east of the park my kid loved when she was a toddler.
The last time we ventured into this woodsy bit, the mosquitoes were rampant.
On the 30th, I wondered how much mud there might be. It wasn't too bad.
Wilbur was very interested in the smells.
For a woods, it's not a very wild place, but I can imagine there are critters (skunks?) here that are scarcer in other places we walk.
Stairs at the east end of the woods, up to the sidewalk.
Manhole covers, in the woods.
There used to be a stream through here. Now it's in pipes below ground. We could easily hear the water rushing toward the river.
Back home. The neighbors' serviceberry.
