May 12, part 1

.

Flowering crab apples, in front of the downtown post office.

It rained, the night before.  Can you see the water drop, on the lower petal of the top middle flower?

Here's a closer look.

I am not a pink person, but this pink, this fuchsia, this white, against the green leaves and blue sky.....  If I were buying a flowering tree, it would be one like this.

Different image of the same flowers as above.

Ok.  Really have to go to work.

Tearing myself away from the flowers.

Notice concrete barrier, separating the post office from the construction mess that is part of the whole AnnArborsbad cavern debacle.

Turning right about 60 degrees from the above  That's the library, behind the crane.

Really?  Seriously?  People are going to drive down and down and down under the ground, and park down there?  Really?

There is a parking structure one (1) block from this location.  It has signs by its entries, letting us all know how many spaces are empty inside.  On work days, at 10:00 am, 200-300 spaces are empty in that lot.

It's very clear that this is not being built for the comfort and/or convenience of anyone who actually lives (or works) in Ann Arbor.

I am really not down with all of this.  I wonder if anyone will ever actually use this in any sort of way I can support.

Sigh.
