June 1, part 2

.

Walking at lunch.

Peonies. I love peonies...........

Ants, also, love peonies.  (as always, click on any pic to embiggen)

Another gorgeous window-open day.  Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

I like the reflections, and the poster-edging, but am not thrilled with the angle.  Need to try again....

Walking home after work.

GREEN!!! gingko leaf.

Iris.

Of course all is not sunshine and flowers.

The intersection if Huron and 7th is tricky, as 7th jogs (7th, north of Huron, is a bit west of 7th, south of Huron).  A pedestrian should be on her toes, crossing here.  Drivers look for cars (usually!), but it is often the case that the possibility of pedestrians (and people on bikes!) rarely enters their minds.  A pedestrian who wants to survive to get home needs to take her safety seriously and *never* assume that the drivers know she's there, or that they will yield to her when it is her right of way.  (ALAS!)

Ok!

Safely past that intersection, one more time.

This is one of my favorite iris.  Love the stripes.......

Azalea (or rhody?)

Spent wisteria, on the driveway.

I must have had the distance focus selected, as this was ... well, let's be kind and say it was sort of dreamy-looking.

I have given it a bit of poster-edging, and am, for reasons I'm not really clear about, quite taken with this image.

I think that they are my very favorite of all. :-) They are verrrrry happy this year. Most of them are covered with bloom.

Happy sigh.

And I haven't been able to get them to grow here - or hydrangeas.

While I was in Maryland over the weekend, I drove by my old house. I couldn't believe how BIG and BEAUTIFUL my hydrangeas were. *sigh* :)

Bummer! I wonder if they need more of a chilling period?

I never used to be that fond of hydrangeas. I am heavily prejudiced in favor of scented flowers.....

Until I had a macro focus on the camera. :-) Then I began to appreciate the details and variety to be found on one hydrangea plant -- let alone the variety amongst hydrangeas in general. :-)

Oops, forgot to say -- sigh, indeed.

I love going by my old house when the daylilies I planted are blooming, but then I was able to bring them with me, too.

Sort of bittersweet, to see them doing well but not have them at home to enjoy all the time, I would think.
