May 25

.

Sitting in my office, watching the next wave of storm roll in from behind the ridge.... All three of these images resulted from the camera pointed in essentially the same direction.....

I hope you haven't faced the tornado warnings and high winds. That looked like a brutal storm.

I need orange said...

We had a tornado warning on, erm, Sunday (? all the days of the weekend run together for me; not sure which was which....)

But the line of the storm sort of broke just as it went over Ann Arbor. There is a pretty high ridge just west of Ann Arbor. It is common for weather to break and be worse north and/or south of us than it is right here.

Our tornado sirens go off WAY more often than we get a bad storm (let alone a tornado), which leads to us thinking "Oh, they're just crying wolf again.........."

If we had a finished basement (instead of just a basement basement), we might be more likely to go down there.

I have to admit -- having just seen what happened with Joplin, Wilbur and I went to the basement for a while on Sunday. (No one else was home.)

But nothing happened. We got a *little* rain, and no wind at all. I could hear thunder, but none of it was close.

Thanks for the good thoughts!

We got a huge amount of rain on the 25th (I think that was our day when we got 4"), but not that much wind.
