August 13

.

Saturday.

Errands.

Bouquet at the farmers' market.  Black-eyed Susans, butterfly weed, and I don't know what the purple is.  (This color is exactly what the camera remembered.)

Berries, on shrub at the library.

I hope someone nice likes these berries; there are a ton of them!

Wetland beside the library.  I didn't see one mosquito back there, which really surprised me.  I didn't stay a long time, but a similar stay-in-one-place in my neighborhood would have resulted in a swarm attacking me.  Odd, given the standing water.....

Queen Anne's lace, behind the library.

I walk Wilbur, then walk myself, as he wants to sniff every blade of grass and I need to keep moving or be eaten alive.  He has really minded the heat, this summer, and I need to cover more ground than he can (or wants to, not sure which).

Japanese anemone.

Seems fitting, I think, that the lone stamen on that left-side petal looks so spermy.  (As always, click on an image to embiggen.)

If I get the camera turned on before I stop walking, I can get two snaps before the mosquitoes land.  No time to fuss.  Pleased with composition in this shot.

Phlox.

Black-eyed Susans.

As always, loving your flower photos. I can't believe it - I have not gone to one single farmer's market this year. I've neglected doing quite a few things this summer...

Thanks!

You've had a lot on your plate, this summer!

I never want to get up and *go* to the farmers' market, but I'm always glad once I get there, and am especially glad, once I get home and have tomatoes, peaches, basil.....

Having my foodie daughter here is excellent for better farmers' market visitation. She gets up early and GOES, and I often go with her....
