Spotted downtown. White bike, pink flowers.
Not very practical, covering where one's hands would need to go, but cute.
Almost stepped on this!
Cicada.
I encourage you to click on this pic to see a larger version. Those veins on the wings.... Amazing.
For those of you who do not have cicadas, this one's body was about 2" long, from head to tail. One of the larger bugs we have in this part of the country. I'd never seen one with so much green, before.
I like the shape of this leaf. Quintessentially leaf-shaped.
Hydrangea.
Sunflower.
Closeup.
I bet this is a sunflower, too, given how similar the little flowers are to that one above....
And its closeup.
Telephone pole.
Buddleia.
Closeup.
Hibiscus, and shadow.
My daughter, the foodie, works at a place that produces and sells excellent food. She went to a meeting that included the various parts of the business showcasing some of their products, and there were leftovers after the meeting.........
She brought home this amazing loaf of challah. We've enjoyed their challah before, but I'd never seen this spiraling production.
This is the biggest loaf of bread we've ever had in this house, and it's one of the bigger loaves I've ever seen in person. Nearly 16" in diameter, I'm guessing, and the better part of a foot tall.
We love it toasted.....
Yellow with egg yolks, slightly sweet, tender -- this bread is perfect for French toast made with farmers' market free-range eggs, Calder Dairy milk, and a serious shake of cinnamon......... Spread with plum jam (or sluiced with maple syrup)......
Mmmmmm.........................
