Walking.
Maple leaf.
Spirea.
LOVE this color.
These flowers are little. With the naked eye, they look fuchsia and fuzzy to me.
It's only when I get them on "the big screen" that I can see what's going on.
Interesting fuzzy stuff when I look up, too.
Note tree turning red, bottom left.
Black-eyed Susan.
Asters.
Sunflower. I was struck by the skinny petals.
Mise-en-scene. Same sunflower as above; middle right, behind the corn.
Here's where corn pollen comes from. The tassel. middle left, seen against the road, in the prev.
Here's where corn pollen goes. The silk. Middle right, between the sunflowers, in the mise-en-scene shot.
Someone has rocks and succulents in their lawn extension. I think this is excellent. I think it looks like the sea, foaming around a boulder.
Mostly the camera and I are happily on the same page. Sometimes our ideas about what to focus on are not in synch.
I took pics of this because of the color, mostly. The color still shows, even though the camera declined (several times) to focus on the foreground.
Walnuts.
The balls in this tree are black walnuts. That big round green husk is full of some serious dark brown stuff. It stains everything. Pavement. Clothing. Black walnut is one of the dye substances that needs no help to stick to wool, or cotton, or.....
Many people love to eat black walnuts. (Hi, Mom!) The nut meats are smallish, and are hard to pick out of the very tough shell that is inside all that dark brown stuff beneath the green rind.
Here's a closeup of a couple of walnuts that are a lot closer to the ground than the above. These are nearly 3" in diameter. The nut itself will be under 1.5" in diameter.
It was the sunlight on the one yellow branch that caught my eye.
Alas, not one clear shot.
Looking at a closeup, it's clear that I moved.
I quite like it, watercolored and then posteredged.
More sky.
Coneflower. Love the color....
Japanese anemone.
Ending where we started, with another maple leaf.
