September 3 -- farmers' market, part 1

.

We made a lightning trip to the farmers' market (in a rush because my daughter needed to meet an old friend for breakfast).

Sunflower.

Bouquets.

Honey.  We've had theirs; it's good!

Beets, radishes, corn.

We'd not seen purple scallions before.  (Sun on the lower left of the pic makes those roots look very yellow.)

More bouquets.

Hot peppers.  I don't like this angle, but I wanted to keep all the signs.  Hot, hot, hot, hot!

Chard.

Corn smut.  This is the first time I've seen this at the market.

Stargazer lilies.  These have a wonderful fragrance.

Sunflower bouquets.

This is definitely the very best time to visit the market..... :-)

Spring is nice, with all the baby plants for sale, but this is my fave.....

Wish I could convey the smells....

So much basil, with a hint of tomato.

Peaches.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
