Walking downtown to have lunch with friends.
Back of a morning glory, in strong sun.
We ate at the Jolly Pumpkin. I'd not eaten there before, but would definitely go back. My sandwich included their home-made kimchee ... yum.
After lunch. Walking home.
A few weeks ago, the very nice guy who bought my beloved first house saw me on the street (I was walking and he was biking). He stopped to chat. We talked mostly about our house, which he loves at least as much as I did.
Our house has three identical sisters on its block. One is next door, and two are around the corner. He mentioned that there is a fifth sister, on Washington Street. I had never put two and two together, but as soon as he said where it was, I knew which house it was.
Here she is, the yellow sister, several blocks from the others.
With seasonal color.
I was so glad he stopped to chat. I learned some things about our house, and enjoyed hearing what he has done for her since we last talked. I'm so glad she got such a fine steward, when I left!
Maple, and shadow, on the sidewalk.
Dandelion, and shadows. I like the way the seed head's shadow is way over there, and the blossom's shadow is right near it.
I don't know what this is. It's sort of vine-y, climbing over a low fence, and the flowers certainly look leguminous.... There are white ones there, too, in addition to these pink ones.
The top of a fence post.
Oh my. All of this, just lying there to be walked on.....
Love the way the veins show up. This one was sort of fuzzy on the back.
Yellow and purple.
Finally, a larger view of this hydrangea. It's much taller and more dramatic than others I've seen. I bet it's pushing 10' tall. Big flower clusters, and the leaf color..... Wow.
