One of the things I love about fall is that I can pick up as many leaves as I like.
When I admire other people's flowers, I never (ever) pick them.
But when I admire their fallen leaves, I can take home as many as I want!
Three maple leaves, from three different trees.

You just reminded me... when Don was in Iraq the second time (and we were dating after we met "again" at our HS reunion)... I would pick up the most beautiful fall leaves and mail them to him with my daily cards and letters. :)
Leaves are perfect for that. So nearly flat, so beautiful, so evocative.........
Were you friends in HS?
Bob and I met at our first "real jobs"............
Yes, we've known each other since we were in 7th grade. :) We never dated, and we hadn't seen each other since we graduated 20 years earlier. However, when we "reunited" at our reunion, it was "love at first sight." :D
Awwwww. :-)
Sometimes it takes a certain level of maturity to recognize value when it's right in front of us..............
