The hill-that-is-the-horizon, from my office window, just before noon.
When we look from the ground to the sky, our eyes adjust to the differing amount of light without us being aware of the change. When we take pics, the camera has to pick one amount of light or the other, and we notice how much darker the ground is, when the camera is adjusted for the amount of light in the sky.....
This one taken immediately after the previous.....
Walking out for lunch. The excellent weather vane on the house next door to my office building.
The demolition on 5th Ave.
Look how it's perched on top of the pile of rubble! I'm glad I'm not his mama -- that doesn't look safe to me........
Having walked just a little bit further north on 5th Ave -- I've never seen this sort of hole-in-the-ground preserver before............
Still on 5th Ave, now in the next block, where the AnnArborsbad Cavern is.
These are supposed to be at ground level, around a tree.
Back in the office after lunch. Changing light on the last color on the hill......
Taken about 1:20 pm.
4:40. Yes, it's snowing. This was the first snow of the year.
5:15.
It was probably "measurable," if they used tiny units of measurement. There was snow on our garbage bin, when I wheeled it out to the curb that night. Not a continuous cover, but enough so you knew it had snowed.....
