November 5, walking back to the car after the farmers' market

I didn't even notice the grass seedhead in the upper left until I saw this on "the big screen"....



More frost.  There was lots more on the east side of the street than on the west side.  I wonder why.....







As much as I love iris, iris in November just seems Wrong........



Violets also bloom in April, but this little one, lower than the weeds in the grass, strikes me as charming, rather than Wrong.

Why, I don't know.

It has frost crystals on it, and you can see the frosty edges of the leaves in the background.

I think it's a particular variety.

I've seen iris blooming late in the fall a few times, just in the last few years, and it's always the white ones.....
