Guarding the Oatmeal.
Looking out my office window at the hill that is the horizon. It's getting rusty over there.
The Yellow Tree, getting barer.
We went out, at lunch, for a burrito.
On the way back, I picked up a zelkova twig. It was a complex twig, with a lot of leaves.
Love the colors, and love the pointy bits along the edges of the leaves.
I took these next two right in a row. The sun came out for the second one. Look how much more distinct the shadows are, under the diagonal leaf, upper left, and beside the leaf on the right side.
The sun came, and went, all day.
Waiting for my ride home. (Too many library books to walk home with!)

Good boy, W! Guarding the oatmeal. :) Whisky guards our kitchen counters on a regular basis. Aren't we lucky to have such good guard dogs? :)
I love your leaf portraits, and yum... a burrito sounds really good right now. :)
I wasn't *entirely* sure if he was guarding it, or hoping to trip the cook, so the oatmeal went all over the floor.............
:-)
Had I been the cook, I'd have made him move, for fear of spilling boiling oatmeal on one or both of us. Generally speaking I am fine with dogs underfoot, but not so much, in the kitchen.
:-)
There are still excellent leaves, but I have to look harder........
The place we go has good burritos! My fave is black beans with rice and guacamole. :-)
