May 20

.

And what, you may ask, is going on with our robins?  I was sure hatching had occurred, as I saw the parents feeding ... someone.  I have to get a ladder, to get up to see into the nest.  I hate to bother the parents, who do not like me to get so close, so I don't do it often.

I am very pleased to report that all four eggs hatched! Here are the baybees, in all of their nearly-naked glory.

So impossibly fragile!  Transparent skin, only the very wispiest of incipient feathers......

Good luck, little guys!!!!!

Later, walking.

Tree peony.

It's great to see the new babies. I suppose congratulations are in order :-)

I was glad to see them, too!

I happily accept congratulations on behalf of the robin parents. :-)
