June 10

.

The wonderful garden at the south end of my old block was full of lilies and poppies on the 10th.

Those fluffy pink flowers are poppies.

Asiatic lilies.

There are petunias, but the rest of the flowers are perennials.

Lilies and petunias.

A closer look at the fluffy poppies.

One of the poppies had almost-single flowers.

The poppies were verrrry popular with bees.

Another lily....

I've never seen poppies like these anywhere else.  She has dozens of them.

Later in the day.  This is one of the plants that is left from our house's previous owners, planted before 1985.  This rose comes back, year after year, despite total neglect.  It's not covered with flowers, but it blooms now, and blooms again in the fall, year after year after year.....

Daylilies.

These pieces of wood are part of a raised planter.  From a distance, I thought someone had painted flowers on the ends.  When I got closer, it was obvious that the tree grew like this.  I'd never seen anything like this before.

Back home, ready to walk the dog.  This daylily is something I planted in 1985.  I had a lot of day lilies in my first yard, and I brought some along when we moved into this house.

Here he is, in his (relatively) new getup.  The harness isn't tight, so I walk him in the harness and in a slip collar.  The leash's clip is on both, so the slip collar doesn't get tight.  But if he should somehow get out of the harness, I hope he'll still be wearing the slip collar.....

I love fluffy pink poppies! And I've never seen them before either. So big, so beautiful, so pink - and fluffy!!! Gorgeous. Thanks for taking the time to smell the poppies. And the roses. And the lilies...

The bees do love the poppies, don't they?!

Poppies really are excellent, aren't they? And roses, and lilies.... :-)

I've never particularly noticed bees on poppies, but they were all over those fluffy pink ones!

I'm always happy to see honeybees. I know they are having all sorts of different issues. When I see a bunch of them, I am glad........
