no accounting for taste

Here's a quote from a reading for my Model Thinking course: 

"As has often been said, there’s no accounting for taste. (Less often said is the equally true claim that there’s no taste for accounting.)"

Perhaps too true to be funny, but it made me smile.....

(The next sentence is "Though we cannot account for taste, we can model it."  Which also made me smile.)


I believe the quote is from The Difference Respectively, by Scott E. Page.
