April 6, afternoon

.

We've gone on from the Piazza Maggiore, to another piazza and another church.  This piazza is paved with cobblestones.

I wonder how long ago these stones were placed here.

Another big brick church, with embellishments.

Looking up at that blue sky.

We didn't see any of these anywhere else, but there were two of them here.  Raised ... thingies ... with what appear to be sarcophagi in them.

This is the side of the one above.

This is the other one.

These things look awfully precarious to me.  I wonder why they were thought to be a good idea........

The greens here are the same greens we had our marble floor in Venice (our floor was mostly the darker greens, with some lighter greens).

This was in the side of what we thought was the church.  An address, a call box for someone to ask for entry.  We were surprised to see these things on a church.

Walking on.  I don't know if this has a function, or if it's purely decorative.

Asparagus.  Wild asparagus is very skinny like this.........

Eggplant.  Everyone calls this something different, it seems.  In France, it's aubergine.

Another tower.

Here's a look at the Due Torri (two towers) which shows how much taller the one is than the other.  At least -- since the top fell off the left one.

Bologna, on Saturday afternoon.

Fancy buildings.

A plainer building, with shades instead of shutters.  They won't keep out the noise as well as shutters do.

Reflections.

Of course not everything is old......  We'd heard there was fancy graffiti in Bologna, and this is the best example I saw.
