I bet they were teaching knitting and crochet at the library..... The little trees right outside the library have been dressed up (the technical term for this is yarn bombing)......
Our tulip tree has more flowers this year than I've ever seen it have.
Wilbur, who does not care about flowers.
He had his annual check up on the 14th, and was pronounced "In magnificent shape for 14.5." I was asked, again, if we are SURE he is 14.5, and when I said all the vets said he was 1 when we got him, she agreed that he must be 14.5. She agreed with me that he seems like he's 10 or 11. Not 14.5.
He's the third dog we've had that made it to 14.5, and he's in vastly better shape than either of the girls were at that age. He's not a young dog, but he can move, see, and hear just fine, thankyouverymuch, and he's definitely got all of his marbles.
(His hearing, damaged significantly by gentamycin in ear drops at Christmas time is now back to being as good as it was before that incident, hallelujah. He can hear a normal tone of voice just fine. Hooray!)
The vet also wanted to know what he eats, because his coat looks so good. He eats Newman's Own regular adult. He gets a Synovi G4 joint supplement every day, two fish oil capsules every day (morning and evening), a Claritin tablet every day (for his intractable congestion), some canned pumpkin with his dinner, and a bit of anything we're having that I don't know is bad for him -- yogurt, fruits, veggies, easy on the carbs, maybe a bit of meat or a taste of cheese...........
It works for him.
I'm afraid to change anything in his regimen, and am not happy that I can't get Interceptor (heartworm prevention) and have to switch him to something else. I really don't want to have to change anything!

He is so darned sweet -- you must be doing something right to have three last so long!
A yarn group yarn-bombed MSU's horticultural gardens in October, wrapping the trees for winter (and unbombed it this spring.) Pretty cool!
The book in your other post looks good. And I especially know someone who will REALLY appreciate it!
And, thanks for your comments on the Gypsy! Sweet ducks. Love 'em!
Thanks!
It's so hard to know. He's our fifth dog. We've lost two at relatively young 10 years old. The one who lived to 16.5 was senile, deaf, and nearly blind. I don't think she suffered, but I don't think she had appreciable quality of life, either, for the last year or so. I wouldn't let her go on so long, if I had it to do over.....
Burt is all there, knock-on-wood!
I bet it was fun to see the bombed gardens. It was good of them to go unbomb in the spring, too! I bet the needlework was kind of bedraggled, after a winter outdoors!
I'm so glad to have become aware of Susannah Charleson! I really liked both of her books.
You are most welcome. I love watching the ducks..... :-)
