Everyone knows about insects from millions of years ago which have been preserved in amber.
I did not know feathers (dino feathers!) have also been preserved in amber. (I know -- why not? But it never occurred to me!)
Here's an article about dino feathers in amber, found in Alberta.
Dino 101 is being taught (well and interestingly) by people at the University of Alberta, and it was from them I got the link to the article about feathers.
