Halloween is a weird day. 

First, the kitchen is full of this sort of activity...........  (And you're not allowed to partake of the pumpkin guts in that big dish that is *right on the floor*.)

Two monkeys are doing that, and the other one is standing uselessly Right By The Dogfood Cupboard, rather than getting the dog's dinner ready, which would be right and just.

Jeez.

And then the doorbell rings all evening and there's all sorts of commotion.  Just give him a usual evening, he says.  Or let him eat the pumpkin guts, at least...........

These pumpkins had way more seeds than we often get.  I decided to roast them.  It took over 3 hours at 350, to get them from just-out-of-the-pumpkin to dry and toasted.  And I could have used more garlic, etc.............




The very first kids to the door said "It's Bert and Ernie!"  And Rubber Ducky.  And so it is.
