December 25

.

All our dreaming of a white Christmas worked, this time.

Snowing right down.  (But not for very long.  Everything was white, but the roads were ok.)

We opened presents and ate home-made cinnamon rolls (which rise in the fridge over night -- very convenient!).  Mmmmmmm.

We sat around for a bit.  Pooh, kibitzing on a Civ game.

Over the river and through the woods, etc.  At least the roads weren't icy.

We have found, when visiting a frail elder, who gets back spasms if taken out to eat, that bringing excellent sandwich-makings from a very good deli is a fine way to share a special meal.  We brought bread and meat and cheese and mustard, and lettuce and tomato, and cut-up celery and cucumber and carrot and yellow bell pepper and orange bell pepper.  And cookies.

We bring everything, and we don't make a mess.  And we take everything away (as instructed).

Everybody gets something tasty to eat, and everybody is comfortable.  And can hear what's being said, because the environs are quiet.  And the dog can go (since we're not going to leave him alone while we go to a restaurant), so we don't have to hurry home to attend to him, once it gets dark.

Win/win/win.
